The IL-96 on the picture is scheduled for its last regular passenger flight today, March 30, 2014, morning on the SU1871 Tashkent - Moscow flight. If can still be used, exceptionally only - as a change of type or on heavily booked charters. The reasons for discontinuation are the high costs of maintenance and fuel and the target average fleet age of about 5.5 years that cannot be reached with this type. Aeroflot operated a total of 6 IL-96s since 1994 (+1 leased plane). For now, the type only remains in use with Cubana (3 planes), the Russian government fleet (8) and the Ilyushin Aviation Complex JSC (1).
